The Regional Water Supply Strategy includes two key elements - a "build" element including the 30,000ML Shannon Creek Storage and 87km of underground pipelines; and a "non-build" element covering regional water efficiency.

A rigorous Regional Water Efficiency Program, combined with the infrastructure components of the project will ensure that the Clarence Valley and Coffs Harbour Region has a sustainable water supply for the next 50 years. The water efficiency program has been developed by North Coast Water with the help of the community and state government agencies. A review and evaluation process will ensure the program will remain relevant as new technology, information and community attitudes change.
